Ok, I know it sucks. I want to make it good. But I'm feeling a bit stuck.

First, the home page in question: http://refynr.com

Second, I'm not a website designer, so I'm probably going to have to outsource to get something really good. But I want to know what I should do to get 80% there with 20% effort (remember, I'm doing this solo).

So, how do I know it sucks?

  • Some people I trust have politely told me so.
  • I don't particularly like it
  • Google Analytics tells me it has a 61% bounce rate. Most people leave right away. Ugh!
  • I put ads on LinkedIn & Facebook, but had a low conversion rate (I don't remember details, but very few people signed up for the amount of money I spent)

What's the first steps I can take to get 80% there with 20% effort?

  1. Would a professional video demo help?
  2. Should I make a desktop-friendly version? Right now, it's only mobile-friendly, so it looks horrible in IE, or if the browser window is wider than about 600 pixels.
  3. Should I do more, or less, on the signup page?
  4. Do the screenshots and explanation do a decent job of conveying what Refynr does?
  5. Should I link to some positive reviews/press?
  6. Should I add a SSL security badge on the signup page?
  7. How else can I improve it?

TIA
