Quick! Help me! My fear of public speaking is going to be tested soon... Based on my Reflections blog post yesterday, I got a random LinkedIn message to be a guest on a radio talk show about entrepreneurs (I'll announce which show later if it's confirmed). A good thing, right? Er... not exactly.
I'm no public speaker. Sure, I've daydreamed that I become the next Mark Zuckerberg and could just casually talk in the international spotlight about how I could predict the way people want to engage online and yadda, yadda, yadda... But I'm kidding myself. I use to puke before music performances in high school auditions. I can't even do a decent screencast for Refynr.com, so took out the audio on the home page because I thought the sound of my voice made such a bad impression.
Alas, I know I promised myself to do this solo startup thing *solo*. So, I will man-up and give it my best shot. Now, I remember some gibberish about "preparation" and "being yourself" from college Speech 101. Can someone fill me in? Advice on how to prepare, what books to read, etc.?
TIA
